What is stereotype? - a  stereotype  is any thought widely adopted about specific types of individuals or certain ways of behaving intended to represent the entire group of those individuals or behaviors as a whole. (wikipedia) Everyone should have their stereotype. But It is difficult for people to realize their stereotype themselves because it is so familiar that people don't have any doubt about if it is stereotype. I would also have my stereotype. I started to look around me and find objects which is always designed in similar shape. This is the first step of my FMP project.  I chose three objects: sunglasses, hanger and toilet paper because I think they are really common and familiar products which always has same shape.  I am planning to design them each 4 different design. process,, (sunglasses) I researched about sunglasses and designed many sunglasses. I made them by using wire and some paper. ...

Visit 'The Design Museum'

the Design Museum : I visited the Design Museum to see various 3D works. It was research for my FMP project. I took pictures of 3D works which has similar design from history to now. In my view, basic shape of product design is very similar and don't changed. I think the reason is that the shape is the most convenient and effective for people. So, their shape doesn't have big change, but they have developed in many ways such as material, colour... and they have made our life better. I study graphic design, but I could think more widely by thinking the area of product design. Also, through some articles in museum, I learned how many product design affect to society and how important it is shape is in product design.

Daniel Eatock - One + One Daniel Eatock : He is an London artist and graphic designer who practice "a rational, logical and pragmatic approach when making work" One + One Project : an extensive series of proposals for new object - based works that each established a range of formal, practical or conceptual conceits connecting two otherwise independently existing objects.   I researched an project of Daniel Eatock called one+one. It's very interesting works. He added one object and one object. I think I can try small experiment by mixing two objects with stereotype which I think. Title will be ?+?=?.

What is my FMP Project?

FMP  : Stereotype Whenever I got brief for new project in school, we always emphasise 'break prejudice or stereotype'.  I want to try break my stereotype by changing an object in various ways. This project will be interesting 3D experiment of my stereotype. My aim is to think about stereotype as designer, to have various experiment and to enjoy this project.
